Jeremy Koh

Tenor, Performance-Maker, Vocal Pedagogue

Jeremy is the first Singaporean winner of the Tan Ngiang Kaw/Ann Memorial Vocal Competition and a recipient of the bronze award and special-mention certificate at the Bangkok Opera Foundation International Singing Competition. His chamber duo, Double, recently received first prize for both duo performance and chamber group categories at the Vivaldi International Music Competition (2022), and the Special Mention award in the finals of the International BTHVN Wien Competition (2022).

 

Jeremy’s operatic endeavours include Raoul de St. Brioche (The Merry Widow), Scholar Luo (Liu San Jie), Bastien (Bastien und Bastienne), Gingerbread Witch (Hansel and Gretel), Kornélis (La Princesse Jaune), Leonard (All Things Shall Pass), and the world premieres of Nicole Murphy’s The Kamikaze Mind, Goh Toh Chai’s Song of the Rising Wind, Philip Tan’s Symphony of Life for the opening of Gardens by the Bay.

 

With a passion for reaching out to new audiences in the local community, Jeremy's work as Spot Pocket Opera Theatre's artistic director has been featured on local news and radio: The Silent Front (Channel News Asia), Le 66 (The Straits Times Life), etc. In support, he was offered a place in the S.T.A.R Mentorship Programme by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre. Jeremy currently co-develops an inclusive singing programme for elderly with lung conditions with Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.


After receiving his Bachelor of Music degree from the Royal College of Music, and diplomas from the NAFA School of Music and AERCO Scuola di Canto Gregoriano. Jeremy was one of only two selected for the Singapore Lyric Opera Young Artist Programme (2015). Besides his private voice studio, Jeremy shares his artistic endeavours as an adjunct lecturer at the NAFA School of Music, National Institute of Education, and United World College Southeast Asia.
