Artist Biography

Jeremy Koh
Classical Singer, Performance-Maker, Vocal Pedagogue
Jeremy is the first Singaporean winner of the Tan Ngiang Kaw/Ann Memorial Vocal Competition and a recipient of the bronze award and special-mention certificate at the Bangkok Opera Foundation International Singing Competition. His chamber duo, Double, won first prize in both the duo performance and chamber group categories at the Vivaldi International Music Competition (2022), and received the Special Mention award in the finals of the International BTHVN Wien Competition (2022).
Through collaborations with organisations such as The Singapore Lyric Opera, Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Siam Philharmonic Orchestra, Singapore Pocket Opera Theatre, NAFA Orchestra, and others, Jeremy’s operatic endeavours include roles in The Merry Widow (Lehár), Liu San Jie (Law), Bastien und Bastienne (Mozart), Hansel and Gretel (Humperdinck), La Princesse Jaune (Saint-Saëns), All Things Shall Pass (Huang), and the world premieres of Nicole Murphy’s The Kamikaze Mind, Goh Toh Chai’s Song of the Rising Wind, and Philip Tan’s Symphony of Life for the opening of Gardens by the Bay.
With a passion for reaching new audiences in the local community, Jeremy's past work as artistic director of Singapore Pocket Opera Theatre has been featured in local news and radio, including The Silent Front (Channel News Asia) and Le 66 (The Straits Times Life). He has conducted workshops as a guest artist for organizations such as the Singapore Symphony and the National Silver Academy, and co-developed an inclusive singing program with Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for elderly individuals with breathing conditions. Jeremy was also offered a place in the S.T.A.R. Mentorship Programme by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre.
Jeremy earned a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree from the Royal College of Music, as well as diplomas from the NAFA School of Music and AERCO Scuola di Canto Gregoriano. He was one of only two individuals selected for the 2015 Singapore Lyric Opera Young Artist Programme. In addition to his private voice studio, Jeremy shares his experience as an adjunct lecturer at the University of the Arts Singapore (NAFA), the National Institute of Education (NTU) and United World College Southeast Asia (East). As the new choral director of the Mee Toh School choir, Jeremy led the ensemble to its first Singapore Youth Festival certificate of accomplishment since the pandemic.
